Cerita Kedai Kopi

Salam,

Bulan puasa tahun lepas, si hati kecil ada berbisik, kononnya nak start pakai skirt all the time, meaning bila keluar dating outing, no more jeans, but nak jadi gadis ayu pakai skirt huhuhu. 'Jeans diet' lah kononnya. Hasrat si hati kecil tu rasanya berjaya jugak la sepanjang bulan puasa tu, dan berterusan sampai bulan raya. Berbekalkan skirt yang dibeli online dan cotton tees from Uniqlo, maka gigihlah hati kecil ni meneruskan niat. Actually, masa dua-dua bulan tu takde lah keluar sangat, sebab masa tu dah menganggur (tunggu masa nak fly) and duduk dengan parents kat Seremban. Keluar pun bila pergi hantar kuih raya kat Putrajaya/Bangi, hantar borang KPT, pergi buka puasa dengan rakan taulan and orang office Ayah dan maybe ada lah berapa kali pergi Jusco Seremban 2 (sebab depan rumah). Lepas tu bulan raya pulak, of course beraya pakai baju kurung, lepas tu (eh berapa banyak lepas tu daaa) pergi cousin kahwin kat Terengganu memang pakai skirt je. Masa tengok Yuna kat MPO tu pun pakai sebab memang kena pakai ala-ala formal gitew. Itu cerita bulan puasa dan raya.

Niat si hati kecil nak teruskan azam tu sampailah ke bumi United Kingdom ni. Namun, apakan daya, sampai-sampai cuaca sejuk sekali dan angin tak mainlah sepoi-sepoi, takut nanti jadi macam Marilyn Monroe lah pulak (read: alasan no.1). Lepas tu (lagi?) rasa macam too dressy lah pulak nak pakai skirt pergi office/lab tetiap hari (read: alasan no.2). Padahal dressy amende, macam makcik je adalah. Konon amik inspirasi dari Shea Rasol, but she looks like a goddess while I look like makcik jual ikan. Huhuhu.

Alasan alasan.

Bila cuaca kembali mengizinkan, lalu bersoraklah si hati kecil ni sebab dapat pakai skirt balik. Tak jamin lagi dapat berterusan, tapi takpe baby step, baby step. 'Rome wasn't built in a day' :))

Blessed.

Salam,

Going to Notts alone is really tough, compared to going to the US for my undergraduate studies. While I was in INTEC, everything was prepared for you. Well not really, but there were people to tell you to do this, do that, take this, bring it there, go here etc. There was even a driver who took me to take my TOEFL in KL. Thank you OSSP team for making it so easy then.

This time, there's no more OSSP. No more the friendly Kak Zira OSSP, no more the helpful Encik Din. I have to do everything by myself. I have to KNOW everything myself. I must admit, it does get a little overwhelmed sometimes, to a point that I just go to bed wishing come morning, everything is settled. No, it  never happened.

But Alhamdulillah, Allah sent me these kind people to help me out with my preparation. These people are whom I just met. Some I just met online, but MasyALLAH, the good deeds they did for me, it's like we've been friends for years.

Last week I had to attend a 5-day course in USM, Penang. Last time I came to USM for my interview, my mom and I stayed in a hotel, as it was very last minute and it was just a one night stay after all. But to stay in a hotel for 5 days, errrr maybe not. So I asked an acquaintance of mine, who I met during the interview at USM, if she'd be going. During our first meeting, we had a brief 10 minutes chat and exchanged phone numbers and that was it. So she said she'd be going, and she offered me to stay with her. How relieved I was to hear that. Though she stays in the hostel, with another girl, she still made a room for me; she even bought a new pillow for me. True act of kindness, that was. During the whole 5 days stay, she never made me go hungry :P Bila kat tempat orang, normally I would 'behave', if you know what I mean. But something about them (my friend and her bf) made me so comfortable about 'revealing my true self' *again, if you know what I mean*. Within 30 minutes of our meeting, they already know how I loooove food. Haha. Read between the lines.

There is this 'abang' I came to know during my BTN course last June. I think each and everyone of us at the camp knows him, because of his friendliness. He went around the hall asking contact details from everyone. His initial intention was to look for someone who's going to UK with family, because he wanted to know the process for visa application. Now that his visa is approved, he is my reference. I must say he is very very helpful. I think he does a better job than any other guidelines I found on the net. All those knitty gritty details about the forms, and the whole process, he knows it all. He always have answers to my questions. He's willing to dig out his forms, e-mail me stuff just for the sake of helping me. He really doesn't have to do all that. For all he knows, he could just tell me to read the guidelines and say, 'Don't worry it's easy you'll be fine'. But no, he looked high and low for stuff for my easy reference.

I have never met her. We were introduced by an officer through e-mail, because apparently we both e-mailed the officer to look for potential roommate/housemate in Notts. From changing e-mails, we went to changing texts, then added each other on YM, and later of Facebook. At one time, I wasn't actively looking for accommodation because I was still waiting for confirmation from my sponsor I dare not prepared a lot. Finally when I got the confirmation, I messaged on her Facebook asking if she got a place already, and she said yes. A sister in Notts helped her arrange for accommodation. She then introduced me to this sister and voila! I got my accommodation arranged in 2 days.

Last Saturday, Notts SEA Office organized a pre-departure briefing for incoming students. I was contemplating whether to go or not because I was lazy to take the 2+ hours KTM train and was even lazier to drive to KL on a Saturday. The night before, she YM-ed me asking if I'd be going to the briefing. I said probably not because I was in Seremban and I really didn't wanna drive. To my surprised, she said she was also in Seremban, at her parents' home. I've never known that fact of her, all I know is she is staying somewhere in KL because she works with BNM. Without hesitation, she immediately asked me whether I wanted to carpool with her and that she'd picking me up in front of Jusco Seremban. Memang rezeki Ramadhan. Semua benda dipermudahkan. Alhamdulillah.

I think I didn't do justice to these people. I could not articulate my thoughts very well. I'm 99.99% confident that these people won't find this blog of mine, but I must say, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP! You people made me feel so blessed. You have no idea how you have made my life easy with all the help. I really appreciate it.

Having all these kind people around me made me realize that, I should do the same to people around me.

To offer help without people asking.
To offer help without expecting anything.
To offer help because you have the ability and capacity to do it and you say to yourself, why not?

Sempena Ramadhan ini, let's reflect upon ourselves, have we been kind to people around us?

An act of kindness goes a long way.

Let's jom?

She's back!

Who's back?

My mom is back!

FOR GOOD!

InsyaALLAH, and Alhamdulillah.

So the 5 of us, no actually the 6 us *baby in the belly* went to the airport yesterday to welcome Mama home. It was such an endurance test okay; Mama was supposed to touch down at 2 pm, but her flight was delayed so she touched down at 2.30 pm. We were standing from 2.30 pm till almost 4 pm *ok I know I'm being a spoiled brat berdiri sejam setengah pun nak kecoh*. We didn't want to find a place to sit because Mama could have gone out anytime. So yeah.

Oh, the night before I made a cheap double sided banner. Hihi. *Memang jimat kos*

That's my brother. Wah it's his first appearance in the blog. Hi Gems Angah!

Btw, not to menconteng arang to his face, but actually dia yang ajak camwhore ni. Haha. Bosan habis lettuwww. *Bahasa rempit dah keluar. Bahaya*

And there she is!!!!

A beaming smile :)

We were expecting more than this. Apparently Mama had to leave one of her luggages to her friend in Saudi because she had exceeded the weight limit!! Haha. Typical Mama. Itupun ada lagi selori benda she sent by cargo.

The other side of the banner :D

Alhamdulillah, I'm so glad that she's back. She told her friends in SA, 'It was my youngest's request to have me come home. She said 'cukup-cukup la tu''. Perggghh I don't dare watching the whole speech they recorded in her camera. I could cry a river. It was a very emotional moment for her, and also her close friends there. I'm gonna cry because I'd feel like I am the one who's breaking them up :(( She was very very happy there, with the Holy Makkah being just 45 minutes from where she stayed. It took me several months to adapt after coming home from the US. I don't think Mama will ever move on. She was there for 9 years, and the greatest thing was she could easily visit the Kaabah anytime she wanted to. Even I don't think I'll ever move on if I were in her shoes. I am just hoping I could give her the best, now that she's back.

****

Moving on.

I am blogging at the most random place -  a cooking academy.

Mama ialah seorang yang tidak kenal erti penat.

She just arrived yesterday, and today she insisted in going for this Raya cookies class. Me being unemployed and a faithful child *angkat bakul masuk sendiri*, is the supir chauffeuse *glamor sikit* for the day! And tomorrow! And maybe the day after tomorrow too! And maybe Sunday too! Haha

See? My mom is an iron lady. She wants to join classes on 4 consecutive days. I don't think she can spell  L.E.T.I.H or P.E.N.A.T.

Right now I am waiting for her to finish her class at 6. Chup it's 6 now. Err 7, I guess? This remind me of the time when my mom had to wait for my sister to finish her tuition class, under a tree, under the scorching sun! Last time she drove a car with no air-conditioner, so it was better for her to wait outside rather than inside the car. Now it's a 360 turn. It's my turn to drive Mama around and wait for her until she finishes her classes. But it wasn't even close to what she experienced before. I am waiting for Mama in an air-conditioned lounge, with a laptop and WiFi connection.

Pengorbanan ibu, memang takkan terbalas. Ever! But I'm trying my best, to give her the very best.

Tadi, on the way to the academy, we got lost. I key-ed in 'Jalan Reko' in the GPS, little that I know Jalan Reko is a long stretch of road. Jane *my GPS* took us to the middle of ladang kelapa sawit, which is on Jalan Reko. -____- Mama's class was supposed to start at 3, but we arrived at 3.30. Rasa guilty gila sebab buat Mama missed first 30 mins of the class. Kalau dulu, kalau Mama lambat sikit, dah mengamuk gila dah.

'Mama niii, kenapa lambattt!'
'Mama ni, orang dah tunggu kasjweawdaksnc02948398r9csxnzpv8ck'

Such an ungrateful child -___-

Tapi Mama, cool je dalam kereta. Sikit pun tak marah. Siap baca doa-doa lagi nak kasi tak sesat. :)))

Moral of the story, janganlah derhaka kepada ibu anda, kerana syurga di tapak kaki ibu.
Moral yang kedua, berbaktilah selagi boleh kepada ibu bapa anda. I'm trying my best, and you guys should too :))

Curi-curi tangkap gambar Mama tengah belajar. *Nampak macam dia lak cikgunye hihi*

The End.

Kebiasaan.

Salam,

Tangan yang suka menconteng.
Kalau cakap telefon, pantang ada kertas depan mata.
Siap boleh tulis key points dalam conversation tu.
Bunga, daun, awan tak payah cakap.
Tu standard.

Ada lagi satu tabiat.
Kalau hati gelisah sangat, sedih sangat, nervous sangat, rasa macam tak keruan,
mesti tulis surat kat diri sendiri.
Motif? Nak bagi motivasi kat diri sendiri kot?
Benda yang terlalu picisan nak cerita kat orang, orang lain banyak lagi masalah lain nak fikir.
Jadinya, tulis la surat cinta tuju kat diri sendiri.
Surat kat atas tu, tulis masa tengah tunggu ERL, nak pergi KL Central dari Putrajaya.
Tak ingat nak pergi mana, jumpa siapa.
Yang pasti masa tu otak tengah bersepah, hati dup dap dup dap Allah saja yang tahu.

Bukan masa sedih je, masa terlalu gembira pun tulis jugak.
Tapi kan gembira tu sementara saja, lepas benda yang buat gembira tu jadi benda sedih,
terus koyak muka surat tu, buang dalam tong sampah.
Konon takmau lagi benda yang macam bodoh tu.
Tapi sebenarnya terlupa, walaupun sementara,
orang-orang/benda-benda tu pernah membahagiakan, walaupun seketika.
Terima kasih untuk itu.

Entry ini takde motif actually. Mungkin masa untuk tulis surat dah tiba.
Hati, bertabahlah.

Nerdy mom.

Salam,

Choosing the right gifts to give to people on their special day is a difficult task, for me at least. It becomes a  'chore' when the gifts are for kids. You would think otherwise, because they are kids after all. They play with their toys day in and day out. Just pick any fancy toys and they sure will love it. How difficult can it be, right? Haha. It's me who is being difficult actually. I don't believe in giving toys to kids. Toys are fine, but must be educational ones. Not some action figures, or cars, or armor and sword, and whatnot. If the toy car involves dismantling and assembling work, then that's fine. It makes the kids think. I'm talking about the kind of toy car where kids just go 'vroom vroom' and move the car from point A to point B and that's it. Pointless, that's my point.

See, I stop reading comics and watching cartoons at a very early age (you must be thinking what a boring childhood this poor girl had). Maybe that's why I'm not creative. I find it hard to imagine things. No offense, but I think Shin Chan is rude, and his scale compared to his parents just don't make sense. He is shorter than his parents' knees. Haha, ketinggian pun aku nak pick out. Truth is, I can't stand stupid jokes.

So yeah, I believe that kids tidak sepatutnya disogokkan dengan a lot of toys, cartoons and comics. That's why I find it hard to look for gifts for kids. The gifts must meet certain criteria - must be educational, won't impart negative effects, can be use for a long time, bla bla bla bla. I told my friends once in high school, that I won't allow my kids to watch cartoons and comics. I'll just buy them books and they have live with that. Hahaha. Habislah anak-anak aku semua nerd. Hopefully the father will balance it all out :P

I went to look for gifts today, for my cousins - a 3 year-old Arif Arman and a 12-year old Ameera Liyana. We are having a birthday party for them tomorrow. First I went to MPH; I thought of getting Ameera some exercise books to prepare her for UPSR.  For Ayip, I thought of getting him a storybook set. The hardcover ones, lepas tu ade 3-4 dalam satu kotak. I used to have that when I was small, so I thought it would be a perfect gift for him. I bought the exercise books, but couldn't find the storybook set.

Then I went to Parkson. Looking at the storybook section, sigh, so kasihan. Not only there are so little books, but also they are all dusty! I wonder how long they have been there. Sampai berhabuk takda orang beli.

Then I came across the school supplies section and found these handphone case/cover thingy. Really? Yeah I know kids nowadays tadika pun parents dah kasi pakai handphone, but don't encourage it by selling handphone covers at the kids section. Isk isk isk.

Here's another thing. Why must you include pictures of Power Rangers la, Ultraman la, Dragon Ball la in ABC 123 books? Why? Whyyyyyyy? OK, maybe you think it's to gain their attention. When kids see the Power Rangers, they would become attracted to the book and masa tu lah parents start to teach them sikit-sikit ABC 123. Kalau plain je, boring ye dak? Sigh. Parents kena ambil kelas belajar cara untuk ambil perhatian anak-anak ni. Sampai kena guna Power Rangers to allure their kids to learn.

Tak rasa ke kemunculan Power Rangers tu macam out of nowhere?
Kalau si anak tanya kenapa ada Power Rangers kat situ, mak nak jawab apa?

Luckily, I found a decent section of puzzles. Lega hati mak, nyah.  Ada juga benda ilmiah kat sini. I spent a good 10 minutes staring at the puzzles, and contemplating which one to buy. Of course I have to opt for 2+ years puzzles, even though I'm itching to get those for 5+ and 6+ years.

Then it came to these two, ABC or 123? I thought of buying both, but macam mahal sangat la pulak (being cheapies). I thought, 'takpelah, nanti parents die boleh beli juga'. So I ended up with the alphabets, it came down to the number of puzzle pieces - alphabets ade 52 pieces, numbers ade 40 pieces :P

The search didn't end there. I was concern about being labeled a boring cousin, yang just tahu suruh orang belajar belajar and belajar, so I went to Lovely Lace to get Ameera another gift. During my high school, tak ingat for which birthday, my adik angkat gave me a jewelry cum music box from LL. I still have it until today. So I went to LL to look for it, nasib diorang ada jual lagi. I bought one for Ameera. Hope she likes it :)

Sebelum keluar, my eyes were fixed to these two teddies. Sangat adorable! A couple teddy. Siap ada junior teddy lagi. Awwwwhhh~ Don't worry I didn't waste my RM67 for it. But so comel I cannot tahan!  Maybe I'll drop by LL before the sale ends to get them both. Gotta grab that 10% yo! Hahaha

Moral of the story is, my dear friends, don't expect me to give some extravagant toys to your kids later k. I'm gonna stick to books, and puzzles and the like. Tee hee hee. But please, come to my kids' birthday parties with toys, so that my kids won't grow being boring and nerdy. Kesian dapat mak macam ni :P

Dread to great.

Salam,

*mood nak blog in Bahasa*

Khamis lepas, pergi Kursus BTN (Biro Tatanegara) dekat Ulu Sepri, Rembau Negeri Sembilan. Pergghh sebelum pergi tu sumpah malas gila, dah la kena beli baju sekolah putih tak pasal-pasal. Cari merata-Carrefour, Parkson, Mydin semua takde. Pelik gak, bile bukan musim masuk sekolah, diorang tak jual, habis tu kalau tengah-tengah tahun baju sume da koyak rabak, parents nak beli kat mane?? Nasib la jumpa satu kedai kat Precinct 15 jual baju sekolah, tu pon RM28.90 sehelai. Kayap beli 3 helai, untuk pakai 5 hari je. Anak sapa tak cukup baju meh sini nak jual half price. Nasib skirt hitam ada cukup 3 helai tak payah beli.

So berlepas la ke US pagi Khamis. Dalam hati, Tuhan je yang tahu. Biasalah, kaki complain huhu. Mula-mula dalam surat tulis 'Penggunaan telefon bimbit adalah dilarang'. Dah redha dah. Sekali masa first day, jurulatih cakap phone bole je gune, tapi bukan time ceramah. Yelah, yang datang tu mak mak bapak bapak orang, sure la nak guna phone tanya khabar anak kat rumah. Dah seronok boleh guna phone, sekali jurulatih cakap Maxis memang takde lain langsung. Uwaaaa pasrah. Celcom je yang ade, tu pun sebab dulu ade Kursus Perdana buat kt US, CEO Celcom join kursus tu. Sekali dia tengok Celcom takde line, habis kursus terus naik menara Celcom kat situ. Good job Mr. CEO. Bertindak pantas!

Jadi, bermulalah kembara seorang budak sekolah 'wannabe' tanpa komunikasi dengan dunia luar selama 5 hari.

OK malas nak cerita panjang-panjang pasal BTN. Ringkasannya, BTN kali ni (last time pergi time 2007, sebelum fly ke US), memang lenient gila. Boleh kata 60% je ikut jadual asal. Patut ada senaman pagi petang, ade la 3 kali je kot daripada patutnya 8 kali tu. Aktiviti utama ialah MAKAN. 6 meals per day, memang menggemukkan. Ceramah 2 jam, makan. Sambung ceramah, pastu makan balik. Tapi biasalah kan, nama pun sleepyhead, selalu gak la terlelap time ceramah. Even masa discussion dalam kumpulan kecil pun, boleh tersengguk. Sah-sah fasi tu nampak, nasib lulus gak. Alhamdulillah.

Mostly semua kat situ lecturers dari local unis, nak sambung Master or PhD. So umur dalam lingkungan 30s-40s la. Geli hati gak tengok perangai diorang. Dah ada anak berderet pun tapi bila pergi kursus perangai revert jadi macam budak-budak sekolah balik. Seronok sebab dapat buat networking; yelah diorang tu semua somebody in their own fields, so dapat la input sikit-sikit pasal different fields. And in the future kalau perlu bantuan pape, dah ade orang nak contact. Tapi what amazed me was that bila tanya akak-akak ni nak sambung buat ape, mostly cakap Engineering. Akak-akak ye, bukan abang-abang. Aku je kot yang jakun tengok banyak engineers perempuan. Macam kagum pun ada, aku rasa 'engineering' tu satu benda yang amat complex untuk belajar and rasa lelaki je yang is built for this job, tapi still ada ramai perempuan dalam bidang ni. Flower power hoyeah!

Pictures time!! *Gambar tak banyak, sebab malas bawak kamera sendiri. Ni pun harap orang tag huhu*

Group 3 :)

Makan dalam group okay. Baca doa sama-sama.
Pastu kena basuh tray and cawan sendiri. LOL

Last night dekat BTN. Ada pertandingan lagu patriotik.
Muka cuak tak hafal lirik hehe

Bukti tak hafal lirik - bawak lirik naik pentas. Kat atas tu dah cuak sgt, lirik pun tak ingt, nak tengok pn kelam kabut, last nye main bantai je. Oh, kena nyanyi lagu Malaysia Baru. Sumpah tak pernah dengar before this. Rupanya lagu Saloma. Sekali menang no. 3 seh. Padahal mmg beterabur gila (me, at least). Agaknya sebab lagu tu best kot. Fasi cakap lagu tu mmg salu menang.

Oh, masa first day, recognized dua orang ni, rasa macam kenal. Sekali mmg betul, seniors kat Bainun dulu. Main orkestra sama. Abg Elly and Kak Fatim, seniors Form 5 and Form 3 masa Form 1 dulu. What a small world.

Last day, ada Kembara. Masuk hutan, daki bukit, turun bukit, trekking untuk ke Empangan Ulu Sepri. Semput seh, lama tak exercise.
Pic with Kak Fi and Juju. Kak Fi sehati sejiwa, timing pergi tandas selalu je sama. Haha. Pasni ade geng dah kat Penang yahoo!

Inilah empangan terbabit. Kitorang sampai kat atas tu lepas jungle trekking 30 mins camtu, pastu amik-amik gambar kat atas tu, pastu turun. Perrghh turun seyes mencabar lutut. Siap ada yang abseiling.

Apa dapat pergi BTN ni?

Well, thanks to BTN, now dah ingat balik cerita sejarah kemerdekaan dan sejarah Malaysia. Biasalah, manusia cepat lupa, kena selalu diingatkan. Harapnya negara kita ni aman damailah ye sehingga ke hujungnya. Kepada pengkhianat bangsa dan negara tu, kalau rasa nak hidup macam kat Palestine, Iraq dan Afghanistan, hidup dalam peperangan, darah sana sini, teruskan lah buat what you do best.    Paham, korang jadi macam tu sebab lack of knowledge tentang sejarah kita, selalu dok ikut orang je, nampak rusuhan and demonstrasi tu mcm the 'in' thing, so ikut je la. *tetibe emo* Sedih ok tengok video anak bangsa sendiri merusuh, baling baling batu kat kereta polis, tak hormat Sultan. Pastu bayangkan pulak daripada baling-baling batu tu, terjadi peperangan macam kat Palestine semua tu, menangis beb tengok video tu. Korang hati batu maybe tak rasa la kot. Tah tah seronok sebab tengok muka korang tengah baling batu kat orang dalam video tu. *masih emo* Kesimpulannye, apa yang korang nak buat pun, kalau taknak fikir diri sendiri, fikir la generasi akan datang, anak-anak korang. Kita kat sini sekarang, atas tindak tanduk orang-orang terdahulu yang berjuangkan kemerdekaan. Kita berterima kasih kat diorang.

Ni more kepada life values la.

Orang yang berjaya, mesti cepat adapt dan adjust dengan keadaan sekeliling.
Ni introduction fasi Group 3 mase discussion pertama. En. Hambali cakap mesti ramai yang meronta-ronta *exaggerate* taknak pergi BTN. Tapi nak buat macamana, menangis air mata darah sekali pun (ni ayat Mama suka guna), memang kena pergi BTN kalau nak fly.

Apa maksud 'happiness'? Setiap kali lepas habis exam, happy. Kalau dapat A, happy; kalau fail, monyok.

Let me finish it up with a teka-teki. Sape rajin jawab, drop your answers kat comment.

Teka-teki ni untuk teka bilangan adik-beradik korang. Kira termasuk diri sendiri k.

Jumlah adik-beradik lelaki (ingat kira diri sendiri kalau korang lelaki) + 1 = a
a X 2 = b
b + 1 = c
c X 5 = d
d + Jumlah adik-beradik perempuan (tambah diri sendiri kalau korang perempuan) = e

Beritahu number yang korang dapat untuk 'e', then I can tell how many siblings you have :P

p/s: Thanks for reading :)

Belated.

Salam,

I'm 23 years and 1 week old today!!! Yay me!!

Oh my, it took me one week to post this entry. I'm getting lazier by the day, not a good sign :(

So anyways, my birthday was exactly one week ago, on June 15. I celebrated my birthday three times this year, before, on the day and after. I'm blessed with loving people around me, who threw me surprises, wished me and all. Thank you everyone! I definitely felt the love!

So on June 11, my auntie had asked all of us to gather at Restoran Nelayan, Titiwangsa because she received a bonus and wanted to treat everyone dinner. It was a normal family dinner, where everyone chatted and updated about each other's lives. Oh, something extra during this family gathering, my other auntie (Acu) and 3 my cousins brought their brand new Samsung Tablet and Ipad 2. So yeah, there were about 20+ of us, busy trying out the new gadgets. Obviously I had no inkling that they were going to threw me a surprise, but then I caught my cousin Hakimi distributing party hats to people behind my back. Oh before that, Acu suddenly came to my table and asked me to play with her tablet. I was like, 'Okay, see what else I can do to your FB (I helped her created FB account earlier)'. And then they started singing and a cake popped out! I was touched, but only a little surprise because I already saw Hakimi with the hats. Spoiler! Haha. Oh the cake, was scrumptious! It was Chocolate Chip Walnut from Secret Recipe. I've never tried it before, I didn't even know it existed until that day. The mastermind was, none other than my lovely CC. Thank you CC! This is the second year my extended family threw me a surprise party. Last year, right after I landed at KLIA from the US, I went straight to our Family Day @ Port Dickson. They surprised me there, as well. Good timing, eh? Tee hee hee.

Second surprise came on the day of birthday. The night before, somebody claimed he forgotten that it was my birthday. I totally believed him given the circumstances we had previously. Sedih jugak lah, of all people I didn't expect him to not remember my birthday *hoi Dila who do you think you are???!!* The next day, one courier guy came to the office. When I saw it was parcel I quickly shrieked 'Ha, XX beli ape ni??' XX is my colleague. Normally we only receive documents for the company, if it is parcel, it must be XX's because she online-shopped a lot. Hihi. But then the courier guy uttered, 'Happy Birthday to you (he was reading the wrapper)' and I was like 'Eehhh it's for me!' And when I saw his name on the consignment form, I just couldn't stop smiling! He was just acting last night! Boy, was he a good actor! I know you are reading this, THANK YOU SO MUCH :) !

On Friday, I went to meet up with my keks at KLCC. Initial plan was to meet on Wednesday. I thought I could tell Chili's it's my birthday, mana tahu dapat complimentary meal ke, drink ke, cake ke. Hihi tak maluuuu >.< But then Kekya couldn't make it on Wednesday so we went on Friday instead. Again, I swear I had no inkling that they were going to surprise me. Apparently they were playing all along with me while waiting for everyone to arrive. Kekny picked her phone and said, 'Ha Ita, bla bla bla.. (Ita is Kekny's sister)' Turned out, it wasn't Ita, it was Kekngah! They were planning the last details of the surprise. Kekngah and Kekny pura-pura datang lambat, rupanya they were already in KLCC busy buying cakes and balloons! And Kekya had to distract me, no wonder she never said no whenever I wanted to enter this store lah, that store lah. The best part was when the Chili's crews sang the birthday song. Even bila dengar diorang nyanyi, I didn't think it was for me, until they reached our table with the cake and balloon. Oh you should hear them singing, one guy agaknya penat sangat kot, mungkin dah nyanyi kali ke-44 that day, his voice, kuat gila garau gila macam suara harimau nyanyi birthday song. Haha. I really had fun that night. Thanks girls! Kekna and Kekwa, even though you guys were not physically there, I could feel your spirits. Hihi

Again, thanks everyone who wished, yang doakan saya panjang umur, dimurahkan rezeki dan lain-lain. Terima kasih banyak-banyak. I had a great birthday this year because of all of you :))

Mundane day.

A sudden thought came while typing out this paperwork.

It's a question of duty, responsibility, passion and sincerity.

One day I feel like I'm the right place, doing the right thing.

Another day, I feel like I'm dead wood, and quitting is the only answer.

One day I love my job, the next day I hate it.

I envy people who easily say they love their jobs.

Where do they find such fondness in what they do daily?

I used to dream of this job, where I can wear nice clothes, carry nice handbags and wear nice shoes to work,  instead of donning the white lab coat (you can wear anything underneath no one will notice), and wearing closed-toe shoes 9-5.

But, look at me now, questioning what I am doing.

.
.
.

I don't even know what I am going to do in the next ten years is of passion and responsibility or just responsibility.

I might be able to quit this one, but I don't think I am able to do that again for the next ten years.

Ya Allah, show me the way, tell me that I'm on the right path, that everything will fall into place after this.

The girl with A LOT of dreams.

Or more precisely, a lot of ANGAN-ANGAN..(What is angan-angan in English? I asked Erin but she doesn't know sheeesh)

Thinker or executor?

I think I'm the former. I like to let my mind linger, think about all sort of things. But at the end of the day, nothing is done, or shall I say 'not done YET'. In other words, saya seorang yang kuat berangan, tapi tak buat apa-apa pun untuk capai angan-angan tu.

Jangan gelak okay dengar kisah angan-angan ni. Who knows one day I'll realize one or two, if not all? Berangan, tak salah, asalkan tahu bertempat *pasang lagu Jay Jay* Taktahulah my angan-angan ni bertempat ke tak, you tell me.

1. When I got back to Malaysia last year, I was jobless for quite a while. So I thought maybe I could do some volunteer work. I thought of teaching English to kids at the centre I used to go last time. I even thought of the method of teaching I'd be using, which is through music and lyrics. Personally, I learn a lot from reading and listening to music, and not from the school syllabus. The only time I think I really learn English was when I studied at INTEC. Teaching English using music sounds like fun, no? Past tense, present tense, future tense - boringggggg hahaha.

2. After I joined the first 'Jom Belajar Matematik', my 'berangan' gene started to kick in. I imagined myself being a tuition teacher. I even asked for tips from a friend of mine who is one! I was at the point where I could drive to the bookstore first thing in the morning to get some reference books to study about what I'm going to teach. At first I thought maybe I could start with giving free tuition to my cousins, and the later, seeing how AWESOME of a teacher I am, they would ask their friends to join in and I'd start getting paid for it. Hahaha. That thought kinda got flushed away after a while, but it didn't just stop there. I then thought of doing it in Putrajaya instead, here at my apartment complex, because traveling to KL to teach could be a hassle. A lot of thought was put into this, kan? Hahaha saya suka berfikir jauh :P

3. I fancy creative stuff, but I myself is lacking in that department. Zaman sekolah dulu, I liked to go Jusco and stood in front of these shelves of colored papers and deciding what colors to buy because really I felt like buying them all.

And then when I went to the States, I came to know this store called Michaels. That's heaven of artsy stuff in there. They have everything-flowers, cards, frames, party stuff, baking and sewing stuff, decorative items, just name it! The scrapbooking section is to die for! Papers, stickers, scrapbook stuff, pens, ribbons, beads ooh macam-macam lah. You can leave me there the whole day I won't mind. Just remember to pick me up later :P

I got myself a scrapbook kit during my first year; thought of making it like a 'travelogue scrapbook', where I would put all pictures, tickets, memorabilia of the places I visited. It went well....but only for two places I visited in my first year - Chicago and New York City. Let's just say, the interest died off after that. Haha

Then, sometime in 2009, I found a blog whose author sells handmade cards. You know what comes next, right? I wanted to be handmade card makers too! Hahaha I've lived with handmade cards since high school. My BFFs are a bunch of creative people, we always exchange handmade cards/notes during birthdays and other events.

Zaf gave me the card before I left to the States, and Nany gave me one for my 20th birthday.

So last Spring, I was being so rajin and made two birthday cards for dear friends of mine, Sakina and Jiji. Too bad I don't keep pictures of the cards I made. I think they turned out pretty good :P (Self-praise is no praise, eh? Hihi) I still want to make handmade cards though. I just need time..and, a store like Michaels in Malaysia. Do you guys know of any? I know Papier at The Curve, but haven't got a chance to spend time there. I'd like to think that I'm creative, when the reality is, I am NOT! Haha.

Okay okay, I promise this is the last one. Hahaha

4. This is the ultimate angan-angan ever! One that I wish I will fulfill in the future. I want to OPEN A CAFE!! A cute pink and white cafe on the block. My cafe will have cupcakes, pastries, snacks, quick meals, smoothies, coffee (even though I'm not a fan), chocolate drinks and many more! Typical menu of a cafe. I even have a name for it, which I'm not gonna tell. Malu :P

I am not a good cook, or a baker, NOW, but I promise I will slowly learn and become very good at both and make this dream of mine come true! Pray for me, please? If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. My muse is the DC cupcakes sisters, owner of Georgetown Cupcake, Washington. Love the show! Oh and also Wondermilk Cafe here in Damansara.

There you go! I've just revealed my life secrets right there. The girl with A LOT OF ANGAN-ANGAN. Don't use them against me later, kay?

Everyone can..
